EasyJet has announced an annual programme for passengers wanting to use its Speedy Boarding priority system on a regular basis.

Called easyJet Plus, it allows passengers to be among the first to board by showing a credit-card sized membership card at the gate without the need to pre-book. The card will be popular among business travellers who like to get a seat close to the front of the aircraft.

The airline is offering membership for an introductory fee of £75 for a year until 30 April after which the price rises to £100. Currently, Speedy Boarding costs between £2.50 and £7.50 per flight with the price depending on the route.

At some airports, the card will also allow passengers to use Speedy Boarding Plus dedicated check-in counters. Speedy Boarding Plus costs between £5.50 and £9 per flight.
