Grab an Italian masterpiece for less

The first names that come to mind for most people when they hear mention of Ipswich Town Football Club are Alf Ramsey and Bobby Robson: two highly-motivated men who shaped and gave identity to an unfashionable club, before going on to manage their country. To a lesser extent, John Lyall and George Burley performed similar deeds in masterminding returns to the Premier League, but the common theme for all four is that they were largely responsible for turning the players they nurtured, bought and coached into the stars they became.
This is my choice of the best players to pull on the Ipswich jersey. I would bet that 99.9 per cent of readers won't necessarily agree with the order, but few would argue that those included do not deserve their place. That is the beauty of compiling such a list: the debate it provokes and the memories it will conjure.
50 Fabian Wilnis
1999-2008, 325 appearances, 6 goals
The Dutch right back joined in 1999 as a replacement for Mauricio Taricco and took over from the aggressive Argentinian in more ways than one by becoming a crowd favourite for his all-action displays and open hostility to East Anglian rivals, Norwich City. His goal in the 1-1 draw against Manchester United in the first home match of the 2000-01 season was a result that gave the squad and supporters the belief that they could do more than survive in the Premier League.
49 Romeo Zondervan
1984-92, 325app, 20g
Signed from West Bromwich Albion for £70,000, the neat and tidy Dutchman played a big role as Ipswich saved their top-flight bacon in the 1983-84 season with five wins in eight matches down the home stretch. Zondervan scored twice in that run and became a regular over the next eight seasons in midfield, and occasionally at right back, in part to his athleticism and stamina. He captained the side in the 1988-89 and 1989-90 seasons and helped to win promotion to the Premier League in 1992 before returning to the Netherlands.
48 David Linighan
1988-95, 327app, 13g
The signing of the rugged centre half is generally seen by Town as one of the few good things John Duncan ever did as manager of Ipswich. Linighan was a stalwart at the back over seven seasons and captained John Lyall's side to the Second Division title in 1992. He gave his all in three tough seasons in the Premier League which ended in relegation in the 1994-95 campaign.
